Journal 3
This is my friend playing pool at Hawaiian Brians. You actually have to be good at using physics (and geom) to do this.. i'm horrible at pool. :] The ball is in a resting state until she uses force to move the ball. By hitting the white ball, she moves it into the state of motion with the net force of her hit. The ball will stay in motion until another outside force acts upon it. You want this to happen when the white ball hits the ball you were aiming for. It will then transfer the energy to the other ball and that ball will continue moving until it is stopped. A different outcome will occur if you do not use enough force. The friction with the table will eventually slow the ball to a stop, which is what makes the ball stop rolling before it hits the desired ball. If you know how to use these facts you might be a good pool player!!!

nice discussion! friction, conservation of momentum, and more. i rock at shooting pool!
haha...you were doing okay at my house!! shooting pool is kind of tough the first time...lol
good connection with the friction!!
cool. hope that class event was fun.
